About the Book

Belly dancer Cyree Heat is headed from Memphis to the Caribbean for a vacation after a horrible divorce. A Change of Scenery is just what she needs to forget her troubles. At the Atlanta shuttle station she is handed a letter, which says she cannot board the Zuilund Super Shuttle until she receives an injection of Sendot, a new drug that prevents a new deadly gastrointestinal illness. She stops in a shuttle lounge on her way to check in and gets locked inside the wrecked deserted room with no one to hear her calling and no cell phone service.

Navy SEAL Warren West finds Cyree locked in the lounge. Soon they are on the run from the agency because she missed her injection and shuttle and is now on the list. Is a change of scenery what she needs or is it Warren?

Book Review

I am an independent reviewer and it is my pleasure to read and review A Change of Scenery by Debra Parmley. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A Change of Scenery is a futuristic romance with hints of Sci-Fi, although it could very well be foretelling what our future might look like.

Cyree Heat and Warren West are well written main characters with Cyree showing more back-bone than one would initially imagine she could.

Ms. Parmley has shown how, when faced with a major adversity, one can reach deep enough to find the will to survive is stronger than the desire to just let things happen. It just so happens that a strong, handsome fellow shows up to help at the right moment.

I have no problem with HEA in the books I read, however, I would have liked more plot development. This story ended way too soon for my liking.

A Change of Scenery was a great little read but I would have enjoyed more back story on how we came to this point in history and a bit more to the ending that Cyree and Warren riding off into the sunset for her change of scenery.

Overall, a good read and I give if four steaming hot cups of Room With Books coffee.
