About the Book

Cara Belasco has been on the run from assassins since childhood. Living in the shadows with her younger brother and one elderly guardian, her luck nearly runs out when the smuggler’s ship carrying them crashes into a soggy jungle planet.

Ben Zashi, the stalwart head of security who rescued her from the wreckage, is very curious about her cover story, and Cara has to fend off his inquires as well as her escalating attraction for him. Will the secrets she’s been hiding come between them, or can Cara allow herself to find passion with the one man who longs to protect her?

Cara followed at a jog, or tried to for a few paces until a broad chest appeared in her line of sight, blocking her view of the doorway. Ben Zashi. She’d forgotten about him for a few minutes, which was a first during her time on Gamaliel. He held up both hands and tilted his head, his eyebrow quirked in an inquiring fashion.

“What? Move, I need to go—”

“Actually it would be better if you waited.” He directed her to stand by his door and she did, too shocked by his interference to protest. He walked into their suite of rooms, and she heard his low voice, too indistinct to make out any words. Mat replied a few times and Ben returned, closing the door behind him.

“What are you doing? I need to get in there and—”

“No, you need to get in here unless you want everyone in the building to hear this,” Ben commanded, and a flicker of something close to fear wrapped in a thrill fluttered in her chest.

He jerked his chin at the door behind her, and she turned and entered his rooms. She’d never been inside. The layout seemed to mirror their suite, but she was too unsettled to take notice of more than a piano and a blue sofa. Whirling around as soon as she heard the door close, she found she was face to face with an unsmiling man.

“Give yourself a minute, Cara.”

She shook her head. “No, let me out of here. I need to talk with him.” She’d just found Mat, and this man was going to keep her from him. Unacceptable.

She tried to dodge around him, but he was too quick, flinging out an arm to block one side of the hall, and then the other when she tried it again. Her frustration built up in her chest, and she found it hard to take a deep breath. Ben’s dark eyes never left hers as he talked.

“Listen. You’re upset. He’s upset. Take a breather before you see him. He’s safe in there, and he’s not going anywhere tonight.”

“How do you know that? He just disappeared—”

“No, he went to a new friend’s house and thought he’d have time to get back here before you returned. The school routine is new for him, and he just forgot to check his datpad. Cara, listen, he’s just being a kid, don’t be so hard on him—”

The anger popped in her head in a burst of red light, and all the years of fear, the stress that never let up fueled her rage as she lifted her hands fully intending to shove at Ben’s broad chest with all her might. “You don’t know what you’re talking about. I have to be hard on him or he’ll—we’ll die.”

Her strength failed her as soon as she touched him, and her arms gave out before she could actually push. Ben pulled her in as she fell against him. “Nobody died.”

“But we will,” Cara muttered into his chest as his arms wrapped tightly around her. She wasn’t going to be able to do this on her own. Two men had already died protecting them, and Soren was nearly dead. That left her, a naïve woman with no experience or skills.

“Not on my watch.”

“I can’t do this.” Cara shivered into the comfortable warmth of Ben and tried to talk herself into some courage. She had to do it, there was no one else. But she’d already lost Mat once in the few days she’d been responsible.

Something moving against her hair distracted her. Ben’s grip on her loosened, and with an unexpected ache, she realized he was going to let her go. She didn’t want that, not yet, so she slid her hands around his arms and held on. He said something low she couldn’t make out, and he touched her hair again. The soft and mysterious strokes were mesmerizing. She could hear his heart beating and the steady thump made her feel sleepy, a strange reaction after so much heightened emotion.

Ben moved one of his hands to her cheek and tilted her head to peer at her. She stared into his eyes and wanted to fall into unconsciousness, to just let all of it go for the rest of the day. A respite from her tattered life was all she wanted.

Ben frowned, looked at her mouth, and said, “Blast it.” Then, he kissed her.

About the Book

Immortal Descendants are disappearing and seventeen-year-old Clocker Saira Elian is next on the list…

Saira and Archer’s romantic London summer is shattered by the bold kidnappings of Immortal Descendants. It’s clear Mongers want control of the Descendant Families, and when they target a powerful Shifter, there’s no doubt they will eliminate anyone who stands in their way.

A split in time could be the cause of this new Monger aggression, and Saira, Archer, Ringo and young Shifter, Connor travel back to medieval France to track down their arch-nemesis Bishop Wilder – the obvious candidate for mayhem. One dangerous world is exchanged for another as Saira and her friends emerge on the gloomy streets of Paris in 1429 to find it besieged by marauding wolves. And wolves may be the least of their problems when they encounter a fanatical peasant girl who will be known to modern history as Joan of Arc.

Crossing the time stream to repair it has dropped them into the heart of the Hundred Years War on the eve of an epic battle, where friends are in danger, allies are enemies, and foes are lethal. To end the deadly game of cat and mouse with Wilder once and for all, Saira must confront her greatest challenge yet: the truth about her changing Nature.

“I’d been resisting the idea of arming you in your bed, but now I think you should keep these under your pillow.” I grinned, savoring the weight of the daggers in my hand. “Means you can’t sneak in.” “No, I just have to be faster than you.” “Yeah, good luck with that.”

I smiled. “Really? Your eyes track her through a room. You find every excuse in the book to be next to her. And when you actually do let yourself accidentally touch her, it’s with so much wonder and awe, it feels … worshipful.”

“And in the end, when it was completely out of my hands, I finally surrendered to the reality of what it meant to love you. And it truly was surrender or break into a thousand pieces every day.” He took a deep breath. “Fear paralyzed me, but you, my beautiful woman, are always moving. So I had to break free of the fear to run with you, and since that day, and every day I choose not to fear, I have known more freedom and happiness than I ever imagined was possible.”

Archer, Ringo, Charlie, Connor and I became a family on the river Seine. We teased each other, tried to make each other laugh, told stories, and shared secrets. And mostly, we healed.

The Substitute Release Day

The Substitute

by Denise Grover Swank

The Wedding Pact, Book 1

About the Book

The first book in a humorous contemporary romance from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Denise Grover Swank.

Megan Vandemeer meant to tell her parents about her broken engagement, but a month and a half later she finds herself boarding a plane home to her wedding. Having stretched avoidance to its limits, it’s time to come clean–a terrifying prospect since her mother is sure to blame her rather than her cheating, emotionally frigid ex. A couple of drinks and two Dramamine later, Megan finds herself spilling her sob story to the tall, dark, and handsome stranger in the seat next to her.

With only one week left to save his business, Josh McMillan boards a plane to Kansas City in a last-ditch effort, leaving the details to chance. An unexpected answer is delivered in the form of the beautiful brunette beside him. Though she’s completely loopy, her honesty, openness, and humor charm him. So when she passes out before landing, he helps her off the plane–a good deed that leads to a colossal misunderstanding. Her parents assume he’s her fiancé. In a twist of fate, the mix-up might help Josh save his business, so he plays along, figuring he can help Megan too. All he has to do is stage a public break up convincing enough to appease her mother.

Josh is only supposed to be a substitute groom, but the more time he and Megan spend together, the more their pretend engagement starts to feel real…and the less they want to break it off. Can a relationship that began as a farce turn into happily ever after?

“Let’s go back to the part where you told him you were here!

Josh sat back down and leaned his elbows on his knees. He looked up at her, pleading. “I told him that I was helping you. He wanted to know how exactly I was helping you—”

“I bet he did,” she said sarcastically.

“—so I told him you were in a desperate situation.”

“You told him that you were posing as my fiancé?”

He nodded, unable to look her in the eye. “Yeah. I’m sorry.”

“Didn’t he want to know why you were helping me?”

He took a deep breath, then looked up at her. He needed to tell her the truth. Or at least the part of it that directly impacted her. “Look, I wasn’t lying when I said I never meant for this to happen. Your mother heard me say I was your fiancé. I wasn’t myself…you saw me on the plane when I boarded. So when your mother assumed I was Jay, she swept me along in her cloud of…Knickers-ness… Well, the next thing I knew, I was still carrying you and we had wandered to baggage claim. How could I correct her at that point? I was in dire straits with my business, and like I told you, I’d decided to hand it all to fate, so I figured if I did a good deed, the cosmos would do one for me in return. Stupid, I know.”

She turned to the side and he could feel that he was losing her. “Megan, this isn’t coming out right.” He groaned in frustration, then stood and moved in front of her. “When I decided to go through with this, I admit I did it for selfish reasons, but then I got to know you.” He slowly lifted his hands and placed them gently on her upper arms. “As stupid as this sounds, I like you. Like really like you. I’ve never fallen for someone this quickly, and while it kind of freaks me out, I’m not ready to end this yet. At least not like this.”

She looked up at him, still defensive. “You’re doing all of this because you like me?” She took a step back, her arms dropping to her sides. “That’s not a reason.”

He stopped in front of her, lifting a hand to the side of her face. “It’s the oldest reason under the sun.”

Her body relaxed and she pressed her cheek into her palm.

Encouraged, he lowered his head, his lips hovering over hers. His tongue ran along her lower lip, and her breath was hot on his face. “Boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. Boy does anything he can to impress girl.”

She lifted her face and pressed her lips to his.

He wrapped an arm around her back and pulled her against his chest. Before he even registered what he was doing, his tongue parted her lips and plunged into her mouth as she opened to him, so lush and soft and… Her hands lifted to his head and she held him firmly against her mouth, bringing their kiss deeper. Wanting to be even closer, he tangled one hand in her soft thick hair.

It took him a couple of seconds to realize someone was knocking on the door. He dragged his mouth from hers, lifting his head as he tried to gather his senses.

“Megan,” her mother called out as she knocked again. “We need you downstairs.”

She groaned and closed her eyes. “I’ll be right there.”

“Don’t dawdle like you usually do.”

His hand was still in her hair, holding her inches from his face. She opened her eyes and looked up at him, her gaze dreamy. “What is this, Josh?”

He gave her a lopsided grin. “What? You’ve never made out before?”

“You know that’s not what I meant.”

“I thought I was demonstrating the lengths to which I’d go to impress you.”

Maya and the Tough Guy Sneak Peek

Maya and the Tough Guy

by Carter Ashby

Genre: New Adult Romance
Release Date: January 20, 2015
Hosted by: Book Enthusiast Promotions

About the Book

Maya Bradley is on her own now. With the help of her dear friends, Zoey and Addy, she’s determined to give her children the lives they deserve, away from their abusive father. But the journey is destined to be difficult, and she meets her first roadblock when she asks sexy, tattooed bar owner, Jayce Gilmore, for a job serving drinks.

Jayce has two reasons for not wanting to hire Maya. One: she deserves a more respectable job. And two: he’s been madly in love with her since he was a young boy. But when he finally realizes how desperate she is for work, he has no choice but to bring her on.

With Maya struggling to earn a living, get an education, and raise two children, Jayce finally finds himself in a position to help her. And though she isn’t interested in a relationship, Maya is showing definite signs of physical attraction. Jayce is sure he can keep his love hidden and fulfill her every fantasy. Unfortunately, he has severely underestimated the needs of his heart. As the moment of truth fast approaches, Maya must decide whether to break a tough guy’s heart, or open her fragile soul to the risks that come with loving again.

Once again her eyes dropped to his chest.
“I was lifting weights,” he said.
“Oh.” She forced her eyes back up.
He grinned. “Been a while, huh?”
She blushed. “What? I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She turned and opened the door, but he reached around her and pushed it shut. The gesture sent her heart pounding in fear. It took her a moment to catch her breath. If Jayce decided to try something with her, what would she do? He could easily overpower her. But no…this was Jayce, not Damon. He could have hurt her any number of times in the past and he never had. She forced herself to calm down.
“How long’s it been, Maya?” he asked.
She faced the door with his hand inches from her face. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
He lowered his voice, his tone becoming more serious. “How long?”
She sighed. Breathed. Breathed again. “A while,” she whispered.
“Was…” He stopped for a long moment. “Was he good to you? Ever?”
Maya couldn’t believe Jayce, of all people, was asking her these things. She couldn’t believe how good it felt to be asked. “In the beginning.”
“And then?”
“And then there was no more lovemaking. Only brutal…taking.”
His body heat warmed her back. She closed her eyes and felt—not at all sure how to judge the feelings. She took in a shaking breath and turned to face him, then she forced her eyes to his—his very kind, gentle eyes. His very heated eyes.
He studied her for a moment before pushing off the door and taking two steps back. “How’d he make a sweet girl like you love him, Maya? How?”

Flacco comes into his own after being schooled by his father in his role in the family business. He’s come a long way from street Hustla to cartel prince…
Portia’s complicated life is intertwined between Devin and Flaccos. Find out who’s really the puppet master in this stunning sequel…Kross Out 2

“Hey.” Devin said, walking into the room.

Portia was sitting on an ottoman with a glass of wine in one hand and a picture of Foxx and Devin at a Falcon’s game in the other. There were pictures of Foxx all over with an array of people. He seemed to know everyone.

“Hey, yourself.” Portia responded, placing the picture back on the end table.

“You ready?” Devin asked.

“I’m ready if you are. I’m with you, handsome. What happens now or am I not supposed to ask?” Portia asked.

“Well, you definitely won’t have to worry about that gentleman, we’re sending him home with a warning. I don’t think he’ll be a problem.”

“I feel very safe with you, Devin. I know that I should be more afraid and probably hysterical, but with you, it’s just the opposite. I’m calm like the eye of a storm.”

“Okay, let’s get out of here. I’ll take you to the hotel. Actually, I’ll take you there to get your things, but you’re staying at my place tonight,” Devin said.

“That’s fine with me. Like I said before, I feel totally at ease with you. Ummm, Devin?” Portia spoke.

“There’s something that I’ve wanted to know since I met you on the plane.” Portia said shyly.

“What’s that, gorgeous? You can ask me anything.” Devin assured her, as he began closing the distance between them.

“Well, um, it’s just that your lips look so soft and you do this little thing where you lick your bottom lip and it drives me crazy. Are you a good kisser?” She purred before taking a deep breath and exhaling it slowly.

Devin could see she was nervous, She was fidgeting with a napkin she had picked up and was subconsciously tearing it into pieces, dropping bits onto the floor at her feet. He could also see her arousal. Her nipples were peeking at him through her shirt and her pupils had dilated. He didn’t bother to respond her question. Devin grabbed her by the waist and pulled her close to him. He gently wiped a loose strand of hair from her face. He was intoxicated by her scent. He could stay in that moment, in that space for eternity inhaling her. The sweet smell of the spearmint and the wine she had been drinking lingered on her lips as she slowly parted them in anticipation of their lips meeting.

Devin couldn’t wait another moment. He looked into her eyes for approval but couldn’t wait another second for it; he was fighting a losing battle. Finally, he leaned in and kissed her with an urgency that he had never felt before. He slipped his tongue in between her lips and savored the taste of her as their tongues intertwined. Portia let out a deep moan as she immersed herself in his kiss, placing both of her arms around him, stroking his muscular back. She pushed her body closer to him and could feel his growing erection against her stomach.

This kiss, their first kiss, was beginning to consume them both. Devin grabbed her by her butt and lifted her up onto his throbbing manhood. Portia responded by wrapping her legs around him as she began grinding her hips against him, urging him on. Suddenly, Devin broke the kiss and their locked bodies.

“Damn! Come on, let’s get out of here before I take you to the Promised Land.” He said, regaining his composure. Devin was really feeling her, but he was in no way, shape, form or fashion Tender D.

“How do you know it won’t be me taking your sexy ass there myself?” Portia replied with a wickedly sexy grin on her face.

Portia grabbed her purse and sauntered to the door, making sure Devin took notice of her every curve. She knew what she was doing, and she would slowly but surely seduce this man and get exactly what she wanted from him. Devin opened the door for her, trying to calm himself and the fire that was burning through him. They both headed out to the car. As Devin was opening the door for her to get in, Portia walked up behind and grabbed his butt.

“Damn, just like I thought, firm and round.” She teased.

Devin let out a chuckle and stepped to the side so she could get in the car. He had to get himself together. She was a distraction he could not afford right now. He closed the door behind her and walked around to the driver’s side. Devin looked back at the house and ran down a mental checklist that he kept to ensure he took care of everything before they left. Once he was satisfied that everything was okay and done, he climbed into the car and started the engine. The Maserati roared to life and he pulled off.

Olivia woke up in the big bed in the suite she shared with Dylan. She recalled their evening and how he’d carried her back to the room, ignoring the catcalls and whistles of people as they’d walked. Honestly, she’d been so exhausted she hadn’t cared.

She rolled onto her back to find his dark eyes watching her.

“Everything good?” he asked.

She didn’t blame him. She had a tendency to pull away, but she had no intention of doing so this morning. “I’m good.” She crawled closer. “Very, very good.”

She was sore in the best possible ways, a gorgeous man had gone out of his way to make her night special, and to make sure she’d come quite a few times… Yeah, she was more than good!

He smiled in obvious relief.

“So what’s on today’s agenda?” she asked.

“We have the day free. Breakfast?”

She nodded. They ended up sharing a shower, which delayed getting to breakfast, because Dylan’s definition of getting clean involved a whole lot of getting dirty first. With the hot water streaming over them and her arms braced against the wall, he still managed to snag a condom and to take her from behind, filling her up and giving her another experience she’d never forget.

Q&A with the Author

We have read about Olivia from other Dare stories, and have loved her character. What was the best part for you in bringing readers Olivia’s story?

I love giving readers something unexpected in a story. In Olivia’s case, that was her vulnerability and her past. I liked creating a hero who had to have patience and understand that the men before him hurt her in ways he would have to work to overcome.

Can you describe your writing process in writing the Dare series?

Aaah, the writing process. Over the years, I’ve developed a very ugly writing process. Just ask my critique partner. For the most part it’s organic, which makes it ugly. I like the characters to write their story but that means it’s not always fluid or easy. That said I’m also a very linear writer. The story follows a pattern of the character’s life … with twists thrown in. I end up writing, rewriting, writing and so on. In the case of the Dare series I’ve been careful not to tie myself to things about future siblings/hero/heroines that I might have to change when I get to their story. That’s something I’ve learned from painful experience!

Do you have a favorite Dare family member you have written?

I always fall in love with the characters I’m writing now. So the book I put to bed most recently has the characters I love. So currently that’s Olivia and Dylan.  But you never forget your first … so there’s something special about Ian. (DARE TO LOVE) Shhh! Don’t tell the others.

How disciplined are you when it comes to writing? Nine to five? And was it always like that?

I’m disciplined once I know my deadline. If I write every morning in the beginning of a story, I’m good. I need a lot of breaks and thinking in the early days. Once I the hit middle it’s a struggle, so I force it more … and once I’m reach the end, it’s always a rush through the end – and that can be all day! It’s always been that way actually!

Now that you have self-published a few books, how does it compare to working with a publisher? Do you enjoy having ‘the ultimate control’, or does it cause sleepless nights?

Although I’ve had amazing publishers who’ve been very good to me, I’ve never been happier than I am self-publishing. I love the control, the ability to work with a book after it’s been published, to tweak pricing, covers, offer readers fun and different things. It’s been the absolute best experience.

How often do you actually still get to read for pleasure, and can you lose yourself in a story? Or does the professional in you continually whisper in your ear as you work through a book?

When I was just published, I found it difficult to read for pleasure. Now I can’t stop. I find the time because it fuels the creative well. I used to think that was BS but it’s true. When something doesn’t work in a story, my professional whispers in my ear … but when a story works, there is nothing better than getting lost in a good book!

Where did the idea for the Dare brothers come from? (i.e., Do you know a family this happened to (1 dad two families?) out of the blue, etc?)

I knew I wanted a series with a lot of characters … and when I said that to my plotting partners, one of my brilliant friends came up with the father with another family, giving me siblings, half-siblings, betrayal, jealousy, bonding … everything I could want. Add in some sports (which I love writing about) and family dynamics along with making the series edgier than anything I’ve written before (sexually) and I couldn’t wait to dive in.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I have to say I’m a pretty open book. My readers know a lot about me from social media. I’m always sharing information and knowledge with other writers. So there are just the basics – I’m a wife, a mom, a daughter, a sister and a crazy dog lover and voracious reader! I love carbs, hate the gym but am going twice a week now since September and finally seeing results. And if you want to know all these crazy things about me, follow me on social media or on my blog.

Tell us a little about DARE TO TOUCH and why readers should check it out.

First, DARE TO TOUCH, as with all the DARE books, stands alone if you are coming to the series for the first time. You can read Olivia and Dylan easily and then go back and check out the other stories in the series. Because I am moving around from sibling to sibling, you can definitely find a loose connection, a revisit with siblings and favorites, along with its own story.

That said, DARE TO TOUCH, like all the books, examines how a father’s betrayal (in this case a second family no one knew about) impacts each child’s life … Olivia comes to romance reluctantly and with a lot of trepidation. Dylan knows what he wants – and he’s determined to wait her out … it’s a seductive dance set in the background of the Pro Bowl in Arizona along with life in Miami. It’s hot, it’s sexy and it’s emotional.

Do you have a favorite book or author you like to recommend?

I read so much, so fast, I couldn’t possibly name them all. If I start, I’ll leave someone out  … but … here are SOME and apologies to the ones I don’t mention but do love – Kit Rocha, Shayla Black, Lexi Blake/Sophie Oak, Kelly Jamieson, Nalini Singh’s Psy series, Juliana Stone, Claudia Connor’s newest … clearly I’m a mostly erotic romance reader!

Fun Facts

What is your guilty pleasure? Besides reading? Chocolate!

Favorite meal? Pizza

If you weren’t a writer, what would you be? There’s something else besides writing? J

If you could travel through time, what time period would you visit? I’d go to … ack. I wouldn’t. Because much as I love historical romance, I need showers and air conditioning. I was going to say Middle Ages because I loved reading those romances when I first started writing … but yeah. I think I’d have a real issue with the bathing thing.

About the Book

Wild Violet is the first installment of The Vi Trilogy of the Gilded Flower Series. Appearing in The Lily and Dahlia Trilogies of the Gilded Flower Series, Violet Rai, or Vi, is Lily and Dahlia Baron’s sharp-witted BFF, who is always up for a party and a hot guy. But, in The Dahlia Trilogy, there are hints that Vi’s world is quickly coming apart, and her dark secret is about to be exposed.

In this flashback story, Vi, the strikingly beautiful daughter of an Indian business magnate and English supermodel, is enjoying a privileged lifestyle in New York City while a college student at NYU. Yet, in her senior year, Vi learns that her strict and traditional father intends to force upon her an arranged marriage and a career working for his conglomerate in Dubai. When Vi is paired with sexy Spaniard, Andrés Costas, in her ballet class, not only does she find herself falling for him, but he introduces her to a shockingly different world—one that offers her the prospect of escaping her father’s plans, but at a price.

Chapter 2

Sweat drips down Vi’s chest as they finish the barre work. Despite every window being open, there’s no respite from the heat for the dancers who pack in the two adjoining studios. Even in the summer, the class is full of people trying to keep up their skills for possible auditions, with the exception of Vi who does it because it’s one of the only times she’s able to feel happy and free. She takes in the mix of people as she gulps down her water—men and women, mostly in their twenties, although some teenagers who look like they could be ten years-old, the majority of them beautiful, and all of them with absolutely gorgeous dancer bodies. She tosses her water back into her bag and takes her place in front of the mirror.

“Today, half of you go there,” the instructor says in a thick French accent, making a slicing motion with his arm to divide the class and pointing to the other space. The dancers move obediently. Monsieur Renard appears to be about sixty-five and has perfectly coiffed silver hair that goes well with his perfect posture. Despite being dressed in pants and a collared shirt, he doesn’t have a drop of sweat on him. “The rest of you will be paired off. Pas de deux.”

Vi searches the room for a partner. This isn’t what she signed up for today. She likes M. Renard’s class because he demands perfection and complete control from his dancers. Every position, hip movement and alignment always has to be just right. It forces her to focus, to allow her thoughts and self-doubt to melt away and for those ninety minutes to just be. But it’s too late to leave. She doesn’t back down from a challenge.

“Mademoiselle Rai,” M. Renard points to her. “Why are you not with someone? Or is your partner invisible?” He chuckles and turns to talk to the pianist.

She smiles back and with her hands on her hips says, “Seems no one finds me worthy to be his partner. Perhaps you would like to be my partner, Monsieur Renard.”

He smiles and laughs, revealing yellow teeth stained from cigarettes and coffee. “Mademoiselle Rai, if I were younger, I would have you for a partner and you would not forget that experience.” He approaches her and says, eyeing her up and down, “Malheureusement, my youth is gone and the women along with it.” Not taking his eyes off Vi, he reaches out toward the right with his arm and snaps his fingers. “Monsieur Costas. Dance with Mademoiselle Rai. You are both beautiful. You will fit well together.”

Pointing to the girl who was originally paired with him, M. Renard instructs her, “You go dance with the others.”

Vi glances over at her new partner gliding toward her, ignoring the dirty look from the female dancer.

As soon as he reaches her, he places his hands on her waist and says, “You’re the lucky one who gets to dance with me today.”

She chuckles as she moves her feet and arms into fifth position. “The same can be said of you, Monsieur Costas.”

Antony Love is the quintessential responsible oldest brother of a boisterous, Italian/Irish family, placed in charge at a young age by his parents who are busy running the family business. He manages his siblings with a fair but iron hand, until his life is shattered by personal tragedy leaving him the shell of the man he once was.

When outspoken matriarch Lindsay Halloran Lovefalls ill, the youngest brother Aiden shows up at Antony’s garage, having dropped out of school (again), needing work and a place to crash. Antony provides both, with three caveats: “Don’t smoke in my truck, don’t be late for work, and don’t mess with my girlfriend.”

But Aiden Love, budding novelist, gets oneglimpse of Rosalee Norris, young widow of Antony’s lifelong best friend and all bets are off.

Set in horse country near Lexington, Kentucky, The Love Brothers Series is a saga of family devotion that runs as wide and deep as the Ohio River–except on Sundays when brothers Antony, Kieran, Dominic and Aiden work out their frustrations on the basketball court, Love brother style.

Love Garage opened bright and early the next morning, a Saturday, a day Aiden had hoped to spend recovering.

“I get so many oil changes and random small jobs on Saturdays, it doesn’t make sense to be closed and let the jackasses with the Quickilube at Walmart get the business,” Antony insisted when Aiden groaned with dismay upon being awakened after two hours of drunken sleep. It didn’t help that the awakening occurred at the business end of a thrown pillow. “Get up, Romeo. You owe me rent money.”

He did, slowly, queasily hitting a shower, sore all over, his skin mottled from bug bites. But nothing topped the glorious agony of a bourbon hangover like the one that had him firmly in its evil grasp.

He slouched out the door, cursing Antony, cursing Tricia, cursing her ex-husband for throwing her in his path last night. But mostly cursing his own weak-ass uselessness. He rested his head against the cool comfort of the truck window until Antony hit a bump or two, which sent extra pain jolting down his spine.

“Sorry,” his brother muttered, glancing over at him.

“No, you’re not.”

“Got me there. And you’d better warn me if you’re about to toss your cookies. I won’t have that in my vehicle, got me?”

Aiden rubbed his neck and nodded, swallowing the urge to throw up all over the pristine interior on principal. “Why d’you hate me so much? You used to like me.” He stared over at his brother, heart thumping, ears humming, throat closing up with nausea. He despised waking up still drunk.

“I don’t hate you.” Antony turned onto the main road headed into town.

“Could’ve fooled me. You’re a real asshole anymore. Worse than Dom.”

Antony merely shrugged, not rising to that tried-and-true bait. So they spent the rest of the ride to the garage in silence. Once there, Antony sat gripping the wheel. Aiden waited, hoping he’d get something out of him—something he would assure him that the man he thought he remembered as the protective, funny, and loving guy he’d grown up with still existed inside the guy walking around wearing Antony’s skin.

Finally, he let go of the wheel, exhaled, and squared his shoulders as if prepping for battle. Aiden made a mental note to talk to Kieran about how badly Antony had descended into his life of non-stop mourning and jerk-hood.

“So, Rosalee, not putting out for you or what? You need to get laid maybe? Knock the edge off?”

The glare Aiden got for saying those particular words did make him worry Antony might punch his aching head through the passenger-side window.

He clenched his jaw in the way Aiden remembered from their childhood. “That is so far outside the realm of your business as to be in another galaxy. Get to work and don’t say her name to me again.”

And with that, Aiden was left with the fleeting thought that mentioning Rosalee directly was probably not a good idea. He surely didn’t need Antony to guess that her name was on his lips, or front and center of his mind.

He shook his head—a Bad Plan because it summoned the pounding agony back with a vengeance. Groaning, he climbed out and shuffled over to the door.

A new day began at Love Garage.

The smoldering intensity of first love ~ the forbidden fantasy of temptation ~ the cold hard facts of real life.

When one man’s hopes are dashed apart in a split second after years spent chasing a dream, he returns home to Kentucky furious at the world and everyone around him.

Kieran Francesco is the middle son of the volatile, tight-knit Halloran-Love family. His role as peacemaker and the one true athlete is well established. He now faces life devoid of the sport he adores after a horrific, career-ending accident, which places him in a new and entirely uncomfortable position—that of the brother with no future.

Over the course of a few tumultuous months Kieran is plunged back into life at the center of the Love family, where he must cope with one self-destructive brother, one ill-timed reconnection to an old flame and a series of bad choices that land him in more trouble than he’d ever known existed.

COACH LOVE, book 2 of The Love Brothers, a family saga of sibling loyalty that runs as deep and wide as the Ohio River—at least until Sunday, when Antony, Kieran, Dominic and Aiden work out their frustrations at the weekly Love brother pick-up basketball game.

As he drove the twenty or so miles from his parents’ house into town Kieran’s head began to clear. The windows were down and the tunes cranked. The sun shone. Signs of summer–one of his favorite seasons–were all around him. Parks packed with families, all the basketball courts and swimming pools overflowing. The sight of a gaggle of boys on bikes riding alongside him for a while, singing along with whatever random, crappy rap song currently polluted the airwaves made him smile.

“Hey, it’s Kieran Love!” one of the punks shouted after a few blocks. “Can you come over and shoot a few with us?”

He waved and drove on, gratified but sad, the sound of their cheerful unhappiness at his refusal filling his ears, taking the stretch of four lane road at seventy miles an hour, pressing the gas pedal to the floor, the throaty, powerful roar of the car’s engine revving him from head to toe.

It would be all right because he and Melinda loved each other. They had from the moment they’d met. He passed some grandpa in a Toyota, as the deep green fields surrounded by picturesque white fences and dotted with horses filled both sides of his vision.

He’d been home and recuperating from radical knee surgery with the best prognosis he could hope for after such a nasty break–to walk normally, much less play the occasional pick up game. His depression had been deep, wide, and terrifying. He woke every day at his parents’ house, unwilling even to get out of bed, not that he could without help for the first few weeks.

Antony had tossed a laptop computer at him one day when he’d been sulking, unshaven, and eating an entire bag of potato chips, something he’d not done since the age of ten when his fate–bound for basketball fame and fortune–had been determined.

“Here, find a job, find a date, find something,” he’d said before yanking the empty chip bag away and smacking Kieran’s head hard enough to make his ears ring.

“Ow. Leave me alone, asshole. I’m grievously injured,” he’d said, not caring about the swear-free zone he inhabited.

“That’s three dollars young man,” his mother had called out from the kitchen.

“You live with this, jerk, and see how you feel about finding ‘a date.’“ He’d hooked his fingers around the words, heart in his throat at how badly he’d wanted to call Cara right then.

But by the next weekend he was caning and limping his way toward the door to some faux-fancy Italian restaurant in Lexington, rubbing his freshly shaved face and trying not to sweat through his dress shirt. The woman from the internet site sat at the bar, twirling an olive-laden swizzle stick in her martini glass, long, slim, bare legs crossed, feet encased in sky-high patent leather heels. He’d exhaled, beyond relived that he’d not been cat-fished by some troll, or worse, a dude.

He’d hesitated then, something in him telling him to turn around and leave, fast. But at that moment, she’d flashed him the whitest, most perfect smile he’d ever seen and he’d been hooked. He still didn’t know how. They’d gone out for three weeks before she let him kiss her. It’d been another three weeks before he got anywhere near her tits. It had been a solid four months before he scored but that encounter had been, in a word, epic.

Melinda liked to talk dirty, wear heels and a garter belt while he fucked her. Loved doing it with all the lights on and in semi-public places. She gave head like a pro at first, before he’d given her an engagement ring.

Her bitchiness had come across as extreme decisiveness, sort of hot in way, he’d admit, since he tended toward the spontaneous and unplanned–”wishy washy” as he now understood it thanks to Melinda’s re-categorization of his personality. Her tight grip on her emotions and her surroundings, the OCD way she ordered her life did grate on him at times but he figured she tolerated his innate sloppiness and willingness to wake on a Sunday without a plan in place for the rest of the day. When he realized he sat across from her at some overpriced, hipster restaurant near her office after going out with her for eight months, ready to present her with a ring he could barely afford, it had shocked him without seeming to even faze her.

“Well, of course I’ll marry you, but you’ve got to find a better job,” she’d drawled as she sipped her champagne.

“A new job?” He’d gotten the teaching gig at his old high school and couldn’t imagine any job he’d want or like better. She made six figures for Christ’s sake, at least he thought she did.

Elated, drunk with lust and achievement, he’d tried to get his long legs adjusted under the small table jammed between all the others and covered with small plates of “tapas” which, best he could tell were “appetizers” only twice the price and half the helpings.

“I’ll do anything you want, Melinda. You saved me, honest to God you did.”

She’d fluttered her inky black lashes and gazed at him with an expression that convinced him he’d made the drastic move for the right reasons. The following year had been a combination of frustration, anger and high school level blue balls. The double drama Antony and Aiden had foisted on the Love family during that time hadn’t helped but it had distracted him. He’d taught his classes, helped out with the basketball team pro bono without telling Melinda and had been happier than he’d ever been as a pro athlete.

The fact that she maintained her uber-bitch persona around his family killed him. But he was hooked.

About the Book

Most women don’t know the pleasure of total surrender.

You’ve fantasized about it. Maybe you’ve even tried. Asked for his hands to grip you a little tighter. If he could tie you up. Hold you down. But he always stops too soon.

He doesn’t mean it when he makes you beg for him, doesn’t push you to the limits of your pleasure and demand everything you have to give–and more.

You wonder, what would it be like with a man who truly commanded you? How sweet would the release be, giving yourself up completely?

No limits.

No boundaries.

His control.

About the Author

Romance junkie and mom. I have a dirty mind and I’m not afraid to use it.

“Cam?” Her voice snaps me back to reality. I look over, and have to hide a smile.

The poor girl is terrified.

“Let me guess,” I murmur, moving closer. “You’ve spent all day wondering what this arrangement will entail. That pretty little brain of yours has run riot, hasn’t it?”

Isabelle flushes again, but when I reach out to stroke her cheek, she relaxes, just a little.

“Maybe,” she admits.

I grin. “Did you think I would chain you up and paddle you? Lead you around with a collar on?”

Isabelle laughs nervously.

“Relax,” I tell her, feeling protective. “Tonight is about getting to know each other.”

I draw her closer and kiss her softly on the lips. She shivers and nuzzles into me, her body fitting perfectly against my side.

We’re wearing too many clothes.

“It’s been a long day,” I tell her, smiling. “We’re going to take a shower.”

I take her hand and lead her through the apartment, all the way to my master suite. I spared no expense with the decorating of this property, and my bathroom is a sanctuary now. Glossy black Italian marble tiles line the walls, and there’s a deep sunken Jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower with a long bench: for relaxing under the tumble of water…or for less relaxing activities.

I push a few buttons and hot water cascades from the rain shower spray heads mounted in the ceiling.

“Take off your clothes,” I tell her in a low order.

Isabelle slowly meets my eyes and peels off her T-shirt and jeans, revealing a matching lacy lingerie set.

God, she’s a masterpiece. High, full breasts and those long legs that are just begging to be wrapped around my waist as I shove her back against the wall. She holds my gaze as she runs her hands down her thighs, peeling off her lacy thong. This is better than Christmas. I could eat her up right now, she looks so good.

I strip off my clothes, erotic tension charging the air between us. My cock springs free, already hard, and I see Isabelle’s eyes widen in appreciation.

“Go ahead,” I say, gesturing to the steaming spray. “Ladies first.”

She twists her hair up and steps into the shower. The water hits her body, running in rivulets between her breasts and down over her thighs.

I could watch her forever, but there’s a more important plan tonight.

I join her and pull the door closed. Now we’re alone with nothing but the thrum of water and hot, wet skin.

I move closer.

Isabelle’s breath quickens. She wets her lips, and reaches toward me, but I grab her hands and pin them to her sides.

“No,” I say softly. “There’ll be plenty of time to touch me later. Believe me, I have plans for these hands. But now I want to discover your body. What you need, how your body feels. Tonight, it’s all about you.”

Isabelle goes still. I wonder if anyone’s shown this body the worship it deserves. If any man has even taken the time to explore every inch of her, touching and teasing her soft skin until she’s so aroused she can’t take it anymore.

Her asshole ex didn’t, that’s for sure. Men like him only take. They never give.

“Relax,” I order her. “Close your eyes, and just feel.”
