Chasing the Stars Blog Tour
One friendship turned into something more, and just when she felt safe, things were ripped apart.
Hayes Morgan had never cared about anyone but himself. He was living the life he wanted, just having fun. He never dreamed that he would fall for the new girl in school.
What started out as a sweet friendship turned into something he never thought possible, until she vanished…
Their paths collide a year after they last saw each other, but they are both harboring secrets. Will they be able to trust and love each other again, or will the secrets rip them apart forever?
It is my pleasure to welcome J.D. Rivera, author of Chasing the Stars, to Room With Books!
Thank you for having me!
What do you do when you are not writing?
I’m actually pretty boring. I’m probably helping my kids with homework or I’m at a Little League event. If I’m not doing those two things, I’m watching Sons of Anarchy. 🙂
Is there any particular author or book that influenced you in any way either growing up or as an adult?
I can’t name one book, but I think each book you read influences you in some way.
Can you tell us about your challenges in getting your first book published?
Oh gosh! I was a hot mess! Still am! I had no idea what I was doing. Luckily a very kind author took me through the steps and helped me out. Unfortunately for her, I still bug her about things.
If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
My superpower would be eating whatever I wanted and staying fit. Does that count?
What was your first job?
I was a cashier at a local grocery store. It wasn’t much fun.
Out of all of your characters, which is your favorite?
Hayes is my favorite. I love how much he grew up and how he loves with his whole heart.
What does your writing schedule look like?
I have a couple of novels and a novella I’d like to write in the next year. No promises though.
Do you use your OWN experiences?
Kind of. Nothing major though. For instance, in Defensive there is a scene where a fan got really excited and threw his nachos in the air at a Thunder game. In real life I watched that happen at an OU football game.
Was it easy to pick the title for your book?
Most of the titles have come to me once I’ve written at least half of the book. So I guess.
If you could pick one profession other than author, what would it be? Why does it appeal to you?
I would be a professional TV watcher. If that’s not a profession it should be! 😉
What are you currently working on?
I’m actually writing a spin-off of Chasing the Stars!
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? – Peanut Butter Cup
Night owl, or early bird? – Night Owl
Coffee or tea? – Both!
Roller Coasters or Water Rides? – Roller Coasters. I’m kinda an adrenaline junkie.
Swimming in the ocean or a pool? – Ocean
Walking or fitness club? – Walking if it’s outdoors
Any last words?
