I think Roman was literally dead to the world when I woke the next morning. He was pasty white, unmoving, not breathing. His arms around me were cold and stiff.
Maybe it’s a vampire sleep thing. They don’t need to breathe when they sleep.
I rose up on one elbow and stared down at him, holding my own breath as I waited for him to breathe. Before long, my lungs screamed for air and I couldn’t deny them the oxygen they so needed.
I touched his face, tracing a finger down from his temple to his jaw. Compared to last night, his skin was cold and hard, maybe because he needed to feed. I traced his chin and lips.
Fingers wrapped around my wrist and teeth clamped gently down on my fingers. I gasped, startled at the sudden movement. I hadn’t even seen it coming. Roman’s eyes opened, but it was like he didn’t recognize me at first.
“Tell me why I agreed to this again?” His voice was deep and thick.
“Ah, yes. No need to speak of it. How are you this morning?”
“I’m okay. I think.”
Roman grinned, flashing so much fang that my jaw dropped.
“You have never seen me first thing in the morning,” he said. “I forgot what a shock it would be for you. I am simply irresistible before I feed.”
“And ten times more charmingly arrogant than when you’re trying to be a good little boy.”
“There is nothing little about me.” He pressed his hips up. I was leaning over him so that he pressed against my hip. “Not even before I feed.”
“Yes, I see that. Wow. Uhm…”
The door opened.
“Not what I expected,” Eddy said from the doorway. “Not what I expected at all. I’m telling Pierce.”
“Edgar, I will kill you!” I shouted.

LeKrista Scott, Vampire Hunted Series # 2
Expected Publication Date – April 16th, 2014
Genre – Paranormal/Vampires
LeKrista Scott survived three separate vampire attacks, almost drowned, and turned down her boyfriend’s proposal. What else could possibly go wrong?
Apparently, if it’s not one thing, it’s another. Lizette, a brand new vampire with a grudge, blames LeKrista for being turned into a monster. In retaliation, she decides to go straight for the throat, so to speak, and attack LK’s ailing mother at her rest home. LeKrista enlists the help of her “Vampire liason” Roman, but it could never be that easy. Not for her.
A daywalker, a born vampire who can walk in the sun, has been hired by the head of the Vampire Counsel to collect LeKrista and the debt she owes him. As payment, her great great aunt is taken. Once again, the Mages refuse to help, so what is a girl to do, but rescue her family herself?
With her back against the wall, LeKrista will rise up stronger and teach the preternatural world to fear the Vampire Hunted.
