THE TRUSTWORTHY GROOM by Cami Checketts Release Day Blitz

The Trustworthy Groom

by Cami Checketts

Hailey Knight has two choices: fall prey to a predator who is out to own her and destroy her football team, or marry a man she’s just met. True, her fake husband can make her quiver with a touch, gets her jokes, and is patience personified, but she knows better than anyone how quickly charm can turn ugly.

Brady Giles has dealt with a sweetheart stalker for two years and has no hope of shaking the annoyance. He steps in to rescue the beautiful and feisty Hailey Knight from a leering idiot and somehow ends up engaged to her.

The marriage is supposed to help them both out of sticky situations, but instead turns into a media hailstorm with lies and attacks coming from all sides. When Hailey falls in love with her fake husband and danger lurks around every corner, she knows it’s time to run, but Brady has never given up on an impossible battle.

Excerpt

Hailey’s brain scrambled for an out, any out. She put on a fake smile and said, “You don’t know how much I wish I could have dinner with you tonight, but you must not have heard … I’m recently engaged.” She kept a straight face when she wanted to gasp in shock. Where had that come from, and who was she going to claim she was engaged to?

William released her hair and actually took a step back, the scowl on his face ruining all his supposed good looks. “You are?” His eyes strayed to her left hand. She clasped it with her right to hide her naked finger. “To whom?”

A dark-haired man appeared at her table. Hailey dealt with burly football players every day of her life, but this guy’s shape still gave her pause. He was probably around six three and two hundred and fifty pounds. Every inch was muscle, not bodybuilder muscle but lean and functional and covered by smooth, tanned skin. He definitely had some Italian heritage in him as dark and good-looking as he was. Hailey had a strict policy of not checking out her own team’s football players, but she knew every single one of them. This guy wasn’t on her roster.

“Excuse me.” The man’s deep voice washed over her as his dark eyes looked at her with concern then flashed to William with annoyance. “Do you need some help?”

Yes, yes she did. Hailey grasped his arm and cuddled into his side, wrapping her other arm around his waist. “Thank you for coming to check on me, sweetheart.” His body tightened at the way she was trying to manhandle him, impossible to really do as she was almost a foot shorter and less than half his bodyweight, but she needed help, and she needed it now. The solution was so clear. William would back off if she were engaged. He would have to. Then there would be no repercussions on her football team and no coercion to date, and especially not to stay the night with, the slime ball VP.

“Um, sure … anything for you, honey.” The man wrapped his arm around her shoulder, and Hailey had never felt so safe as he gently pulled her close. Safety and reassurance were amazing and unexpected feelings to have at the moment, especially after the fear of William clogging her throat mere seconds ago and the fact that she naturally shied away from well-built men. The emotion of it all made her weak, and she found herself leaning against his muscular chest.

The dark-haired guy glanced down at her and winked. Ooh, he was quick too. She ticked off his positive qualities in her mind—not one of her football brothers, handsome with strong facial features, brown eyes framed with dark lashes, and smart. She might even give this guy a date to prove they were engaged.

“This is my fiancé,” she said to William, inclining her chin with pride.

The man kind of started, but he stayed close to her side as he released her from his hold and stuck his hand out to William. “Brady Giles. Pleasure to meet you …”

Brady Giles? Oh, crap, he was one of her players! He’d recently transferred from New England. He was one of the top cornerbacks in the nation, and they were extremely blessed to get him, but the Brady Giles she’d seen from the sidelines had long, dark wavy hair and a full beard. This guy with the cropped hair and clean shaven model-gorgeous face was a Brady Giles she’d never expected—sharp and way too appealing. What had she done?

How to Kiss a Billionaire

by Cami Checketts

Sassy meets swoon-worthy in this fast-paced contemporary romance.

Miriam Salisbury escapes to Oregon to avoid a boyfriend who won’t take no for an answer, killing her beloved cat to prove it. When her father sends Clay Browning to protect her, she’s certain he’s lost his mind. As far as she’s concerned Clay’s experience is limited to posing for the camera, charming women, and making fun of her. He’s been teasing her since they were children and she’s never gotten over the way he threw crawdads at her at church picnics.

Clay retired from the military and entered the world of private security. When he gets the call to protect Miriam he’s excited to be around his lifelong crush. As expected, he teases her nonstop and the only thing he takes seriously is her security. He knows she’d never give him a chance and he can’t help but give her a hard time.

After Miriam is dumped in the freezing ocean on a crabbing expedition and Clay saves her from drowning and freezing to death, she takes a second look at her hired gun. But opening up to him is more terrifying than facing her stalker.

As events escalate to a frenzied climax, Miriam and Clay must put aside past grudges in the hope of finding a lasting love for their future.

“I LOVE these sweet romances! I love that each of them is a mini escape. You almost feel as though you’ve traveled to a warm destination even though it’s cold and snowy where you live. I love that I can pass them to either my daughter or my grandma and never have any concern about the content. And the characters in these are amazing! I love them all!” Cathy Jeppsen, Book Reviewer, My Book a Day

Miriam closed her eyes as Clay’s arms came around her and held her tight.

“Whoa, darling, if I would’ve known I’d get this reception, I would’ve broken into your house years ago.”

Miriam pushed away from him, stumbling from the realization that he hadn’t changed. Clay was a vicious flirt and never took anything seriously. She shoved at his chest, but he didn’t budge. He was real and he was here, and unfortunately for her unsteady nerves, it didn’t look like he was going away. “What are you doing here?” she demanded.

“Your daddy hired me.”

“My daddy … hired you?” She glared at him. “For what? A pinup model?”

He smiled and tilted his head to the side. “I know I look good, but I actually have a few skills in protection too.”

“You do not. All you’ve ever been good at is spending your billions of dollars and getting women to simper at your feet.” She knew he’d been in the military for four years after high school, but after that, he appeared to be the ultimate player. At least, it looked that way in the online photos she’d seen, when she’d googled him. Okay, it was pathetic that she’d googled him, but he was Clay Browning, a.k.a. Miriam’s dream man.

He spread his arms, and she couldn’t help but notice the definition from his forearms and biceps up through his shoulders and chest. Maybe he should find a shirt that wasn’t so … form-fitting. “Hey, I’ve got lots of talents. What can I say?”

Miriam pushed out a huffy breath. “You are not here. This is all some kind of crazy fantasy.”

“I know I’m the stuff fantasies are made of, but I really am here.” He sauntered a step closer, and that spicy cologne made her stomach heat up. “You want to enact some of those fantasies you’ve been having about me?”

She put a hand on his chest to keep him from coming any closer. Those muscles were real. Yikes. She dropped her hand and stepped back. “For one second, just for one, be serious. Why are you here, and how did you get in my house?”

Clay rolled his eyes and folded his arms across his chest. Sheesh. What did he do with biceps that defined? Wrestle bulls?

Focus, Miriam!

“Your daddy called me, said Greg was threatening and stalking you and I had to find you. So I found you, and now I’m here to watch over you.”

Watch over you? She would not survive with this man in the same town, let alone the same house. Her throat was dry and all those daydreams she used to have about him rotated through her mind.

“How did you get in?” she demanded.

“I told you: I have skills.” He smiled and finally admitted, “I was special ops in the Army and I’ve worked in private security since then.”

“You’re being serious now? This isn’t some bull crap line that Clay Browning is giving me?”

He smirked. “You can believe whatever you want, sweetheart.” He took a step closer, and her legs betrayed her by not backing up. “But do believe that I’m here and you I and are going to get real cozy.”

Miriam looked over his gorgeous face. She clenched her trembling hands together and swallowed hard. “I’m not one of your flavors of the week, Clay.”

He leaned in and sniffed her. “Ah. Yeah, I think you are. Vanilla with a hint of chocolate. My favorite flavor this week.”

What Others Are Saying About This Book“I love a good romantic suspense and Shadows in the Curtain was great–really creepy! I made the mistake of reading it at night while my husband was out of town and I was a little scared. I definitely didn’t want to look out of the window and tripled checked the locks.

Emmy is such a sweet woman. She is very loyal to those she loves and is dedicated to her work. She is a very talented actress, but instead of focusing on fame and fortune, she seeks love and happiness. Emmy really has her priorities in line. I enjoyed the friendship she had with her neighbors, especially Kelton.
Josh is a mystery–is he the stalker/murderer or is he a friend? Sparks really fly between Emmy and the new firefighter, which makes it harder for Emmy to stay away.
I loved the suspense and mystery, because like I said before, it was really creepy. I thought it was well-done in a way to keep the reader engaged and invested in the story. The romance was sizzling, but clean, and for me (a clean romance lover), that kept me flipping the pages. The characters were well written and the mystery kept me guessing. I loved the setting–I love the ocean and would love to have a house in a place like this one (small town Oregon)!” – Katie Watkins, Reviewer, Katie’s Clean Book Collection

Q&A With Author

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? Ben & Jerry’s S’mores

Night owl, or early bird? Night owl

Coffee or tea?

Roller Coasters or Water Rides? BOTH!!

Swimming in the ocean or a pool? Ocean

Walking or fitness club? Running. J

What does your writing schedule look like?

I wish I had a schedule. I cram writing into every spare minute of my day. If I’m folding laundry or emptying the dishwasher, I’m using that time to work on plot development or to flush out a character. Driving time is great for playing through scenes in my head. Actual time at the computer is 1-3 hours a day–if I’m lucky. But it’s okay. Being a mom comes first.

Do you use your own experiences?

To an extent. For example, my family has dipped chocolates for Christmas ever since I can remember. I used my experience making caramels, fondants, and dipping chocolates for Reese in The Candy Counter Heiress. Every flavor mentioned in the book is one I’ve dipped in chocolate myself. The technique of hand-dipping, which I use, is also portrayed in the book.

Was it easy to pick the title for your book?

Yep. I had a title before I had a story. When we got together to discuss the premise for the anthology, we talked about centering it around a department store at Christmas time. My thoughts immediately went to the old ZCMI chocolate counter and I just knew that was where I wanted to place my character.

What was your first job?

I loved my first job. I worked in a shoe store. It was awesome to get a discount on shoes and I loved the elderly ladies that came in. They were a hoot!

What do you do when you are not writing?

I’m an active person so I’m constantly on the move. I run, cycle, wakeboard, ski, and hike. If I’m home, I’m usually cooking, baking, cleaning, sewing, or helping kids with homework. I have four kids and they keep me busy.

Use Mother Mantras on Tough Days

Recently, a friend of mine shared what she had learned at her child’s science fair. One of the exhibits presented two microscope slides and what had resulted when water droplets were placed on them and then spoken to (not a typo). To the first slide, the person had spoken negative words, and to the other slide, only positive words were spoken. Then both slides were put in the freezer for a period of time.

Afterward, and quite amazingly, the negative word slide had only the water droplets. But the positive word slide had beautiful crystals.

Although we may be aware of the power of words, we may not realize their power toward ourselves, and how much we need, and could use, their positive boost. When was the last time a word or phrase helped you through a rough spot, especially as a parent? In talking with women, here are a few tips I’ve learned for helpful Mothering Mantras.

Keep it real.

Forget the cheesy ones—they’re annoying and useless. Use mantras that are tried and true, such as scriptures or quotes, something that gives you a deep breath and moves you forward. Some of my favorites includes, “The grass will still grow,” “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all,” and from my friend, “That’s part of being a family” (mostly in relation to disgruntlement at chores, errands, or functional family dos). Posted next to my bed are a few standbys, from Rudyard Kipling to Emily Barrett Browning. But one of my oft-used favorites is from Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Mainly because understanding the intricate job requirements of motherhood has taken, and will continue to take, many good years.

Of course, I always like a good twist on an old favorite. The Serenity Prayer is beautiful and healing. And, this version in Mary Ellen Edmunds book, You Can Never Get Enough of What You Don’t Need, works too.

“Grant me the serenity to know what I can change. Let me change what I can. Let me accept that which I cannot change. Let me ignore that which I cannot change or accept. Let me run away from that which I cannot change, accept, or ignore. Let me lock myself in the bathroom, hold my hands over my ears, and hum about that which I cannot change, accept, ignore, or run away from. Let me bite those who can change, accept, ignore, run. Let me be!”

Use mantras with children.

Some of my most helpful phrases are ones that I use with my children. When they complain about our checking social media, phones, or where they are going—and even say, Don’t we trust them?—I use a phrase from a friend: “Trust but verify.” That has helped many a situation and child to know that we do love and trust them. And, as invested parents, part of our job is to verify. And to ignore resulting eye-rolling or whining to said explanation on trusting and verifying.

Seek for the right mantra on a given day.

What women shared and I have found is that if we seek it, we will find it, right when we need it. One morning I was jogging/walking/corralling my children when a neighbor drove by and stopped for a moment to chat. She had been through a difficult experience within the last year, as I had also (unbeknownst to her). At one point in her conversation she shared, “You know, you’ve got to learn to be lonely. You’ve got to feel the hurt to get through to the other side.” Those two phrases distilled down to my new necessary mantras: Learn to be lonely, and, You’ve got to feel the hurt to get through it.

Expand the mantra to a family mission statement.

If you feel brave, or bored, consider taking some of your favorite Mothering Mantras and adding them to your family statement. One of ours is, “Work hard, play hard, pray hard.” When children give me grief about a family project or family prayer, I feel great joy in reciting this one explanatory line, in that teaching mother tone.

Consider the Mothering Mantras that get you through your day, and even share one with a friend, or a child. And feel the power of the positive words.

Snippet from Christmas Makeover

“Drew?” Chelsea’s breath hitched. As in my dream man who I’ve loved since before Jessica started waxing my unibrow at sleepovers?

Drew ended the call, put his phone in his suit pocket, and spun to face her. “Chels?”

Chelsea didn’t know if she was in a daydream or real life. The warm look in Drew’s eyes and excitement in his voice sent quivers throughout her body. It wasn’t a dream because he didn’t lift her off the ground and kiss her passionately, but the lingering hug he gave her was worth writing lengthy journal entries about.

“What are you doing in town?” Chelsea asked.

“What are you doing shopping?” Drew asked at the same time.

They both laughed awkwardly. Kiera arched an eyebrow and turned back to her office. “See you two later.”

“Bye,” they both said then stared at each other again.

Chelsea broke the moment, turning and walking toward the center of the store. Drew fell into step beside her. She nudged his bicep with her shoulder, he was one of the few men who made her feel short. “I haven’t seen you in six years and all you can ask is what am I doing shopping?”

Drew chuckled and she just had to look again. His throaty chuckle was still the same, maybe a little deeper. His brown sugar eyes and wavy dark hair hadn’t changed much, but his face had matured, if possible he was even more handsome than her fantasies about him, and oh, those lips, those perfectly sculpted lips. She withheld a sigh. If only he spent half as much thought on her as she did on him. Men never think that hard about their buddies and since Chelsea could outscore Drew on the court, the only time he probably spent thinking about her was when he strategized ways to get around her defense.

Drew turned to her, taking one of her hands in his. “You look great, Chels.”

A jolt of warmth raced through her body. She inhaled quickly and his spicy cologne messed with her brain waves. She leaned toward him before her good sense caught up with her hormones. It was a wonder that he didn’t seem at all affected by the connection because it was strong enough to wipe out a power grid. Wait, this was Drew. Of course he wasn’t affected by the connection, he thought of her as a little sister. No, that wasn’t quite right. He’d have to admit both of her chromosomes were X to think of her as a sister.

Christmas Makeover by Cami Checketts Amazon bestselling author

Chelsea Jamison has been infatuated with Drew Stirling longer than she’s loved playing basketball, high-top sneakers, and the Knicks. Unfortunately, all Drew sees is the kid who kicked his trash in the high school free throw contest and not the girl whose heart breaks into a fast dribble when he’s near.

Drew makes an unexpected visit home to Echo Ridge and their friendship picks up where they left off as they scheme to make a teenaged boy’s Christmas dreams come true. When Chelsea realizes she’s fallen for her best friend, she wonders if there is any hope of a relationship with Drew or if she’s stuck in buddy-status for life.

The Candy Counter Heiress by Lucy McConnell Amazon bestselling & award-winning author

Someday Reese Gates will own The Candy Counter at Kenworth’s; but someday can’t come fast enough when the manager threatens to bring in a national candy provider. Reese secretly takes matters into her own hands hoping to save her parents from additional worry and prove herself capable of running the company. Her deception deepens as she ropes computer guru Andy Edwards into helping her expand the business. Reese wanted to shake things up, but she wasn’t planning on her heart getting caught in the mix by Andy’s stolen kisses. If she can hold it together until after Christmas, then she can reveal her successful online company and her feelings for Andy. Unfortunately for Reese, even the best laid plans can melt like chocolate.

Soda Fountain Christmas by Connie E. Sokol Amazon bestselling author

Keira Kenworth has one focus this holiday season: save her father’s old-time department store from bankruptcy. She is not focused on Tayton Wells, the tall, dark, and genius marketing guru from downtown New York, hired to make it happen. He is as doubtful that her nostalgic connect-the-town ideas will succeed as she is about his numbers-first plan. However, it’s not just their different approaches that cause sparks to fly. Working together on a fast deadline to save the store before Christmas, the unspoken connection between them grows. But will the tough decisions they face drive them back to their separate worlds, or will they lead to the beginning of love?

Christmas Makeover by Heather Tullis Amazon bestselling author

Jonah Owens thought moving to Echo Ridge to open his art gallery would solve all of his problems. The need to sell his grandma’s house adds an unexpected complication. It would be easier if his neighbor didn’t have all those farm animals.

Kaya Feidler’s family has owned their land for nearly a hundred years–long before the neighbors were there. There’s no way she’s giving up the animal therapy business she’s been struggling to make profitable. She gets a temp job helping Jonah in the gallery. Spending time together is a recipe for romance, but can they overcome their own hangups to be more than friends?

Hope for Christmas by Rachelle J. Christensen Amazon bestselling & award-winning author

Anika Fletcher hates Christmas–its promises of good tidings and hope for the future are as tinseled as the ornaments on Kenworth’s Hope Tree. Despite her feelings, Anika wants to maintain her daughter’s faith in the magic of the season and gladly accepts a second job working with the handsome Carlos Rodriguez to restore Kenworth’s old fashioned soda fountain. Carlos is no stranger to hard times and slowly shares his life of light and joy with Anika as they work together. Just as her fragile soul begins to feel hope again, an ill-timed act of charity changes everything. Anika isn’t sure who she can trust or if hope is worth nurturing–especially at Christmas when it’s easy to enjoy a kiss and believe love can last longer than the season.

from A Touch of Love

“Do you ever write down what you’re thinking?” Luke asked.

Annie’s eyebrows arched. He loved the way she did that.

“Would you write for me? What you’re thinking?”

She shrugged her shapely shoulders and studied him for a few seconds before pulling out a notepad. She wrote for a few seconds then handed it to him.

I’m thinking that this cowboy is a nice guy who’s uncomfortable with my silence.

“I guess you got me there. I don’t really talk too much, usually just swear at the cattle. So I’m not a nice guy at all.”

She took the pad back, wrote, and handed it to him again.

You’re definitely a nice guy. I knew that when you bought the thoughtful gift for your sister. Why do you want to take me to dinner? Feeling bad for the new girl in town?

He grinned. “Nope. Feeling intrigued by the new girl in town and wanting to get to know her better.” He handed the pad back to her.

You don’t have the time to get to know me better, it would take hours for me to get anything out with my stutter.

He laughed. “Sweetheart, I’ve got the time and the desire to get to know you better. I really do love the sound of your voice, but if you’re more comfortable we could communicate like this.”

Her grin widened. How about we give it a few days? I don’t go to dinner with men I don’t know.

“How about I come back tomorrow and see you so you don’t have to go to dinner with a man you don’t know?” He paused. “Dang. Tomorrow we’re checking the range cows. Friday?”

She looked dubious.

“I’d like an appointment Friday at five for…” He looked over the list of options. “A foot zone. If you’re available, I’d like to take you to dinner after.”

She wrote quickly. Reading your feet will definitely help me get to know you. Are you sure you’re ready for that kind of disclosure?

A surprised laugh escaped him. “You can tell stuff about me from rubbing my feet?”

She pointed at the word reading.

“Reading my feet?”

She nodded, looking very smug.

“Okay. I have nothing to hide. You’re sure we can’t go to dinner tonight?”

She waved at him.

Luke inclined his head. Annie was a challenge. He liked her more each minute.

Book Review - Copy

It is my pleasure to review Summer in Snow Valley and offer my review. I was provided a copy of this anthology in exchange for an honest review.

Together as an anthology, this is a selection of six of the sweetest novellas I’ve had the pleasure to read in a very long time and had I realized what a treat it would be, I would have made sure these six authors were on the top of my TBR stack with every book they’ve written.

What a breath of fresh air to find that there is still romance and sweetness to be found. Snow Valley sounds like the wonderful small town I first remember from growing up, where the neighbors all knew each other, and always seemed to be meddling in the lives of their children and the myriad of other characters that exist in these wonderful towns.

Snow Valley offers a place where brokenness can be mended, where differences are ignored, and love abounds. The authors of the Snow Valley novellas have reached into the heart of every person and found their need for love and acceptance and allowed them to find that love and acceptance within themselves and the community at large. They offer a great look in to love that builds from adversity and the challenges of learning to love ourselves as well as each other.

It was an absolute pleasure to read Summer in Snow Valley. I highly recommend it and I give Summer in Snow Valley five steaming hot cups of Room With Books coffee!

Becca soon learns that there’s more to a happily-ever-after than flirty firemen with muscles the size of the Montana hills.

Fun facts:

Taylor Hart
  • My favorite, favorite, favorite thing to do in the summer is pick up candy at fourth of July parades!
  • I have 4 boys that break lots of things and force me to watch youtube videos on how to fix stuff.

Lucy McConnell
  • Though she grew up in Utah, Lucy didn’t take up skiing until she was 32. It still scares her to look down a steep grade, but since her kids are usually half way down the hill before she gets up the nerve to push off, she has no choice but to suck it up and do her best.
  • She watched a horrendous amount of Christmas movies and DVRs them so she can watch them in the middle of the summer too.
  • Lucy bakes…a lot! But, she swears chocolate desserts come out better when mixed with a little Elvis Presley music. It’s totally true; you should try it.

Kimberley Montpetit
  • She loves to belly dance and once performed a tribal dance in a coffee house with her husband and three teenage sons in the audience. The group dance became a solo when the other dancers didn’t show. You can often find her shimmying while doing the dishes.
  • A die-hard lover of chocolate, Kimberley can eat a whole pan of brownies in a single day and loves ketchup on her spaghetti. It’s a childhood thing.

Cindy Roland
  • She has won a few things on the radio, like $5000 dollars when they were poor college students, and a trip to Mazatlan when Oliver North, a family friend to her in-laws, called the radio station to win the contest for who knew the most
    famous person.
  • Cindy once chased down a criminal in downtown Washington DC when she discovered he had just broken into several cars, including her mother-in-law’s. When the DC cops asked her what she was going to do with the guy if she’d caught him, she told them she wasn’t sure but wanted to tell him how wrong stealing was. That made them laugh, and one of them good-naturedly suggested her naivety might have something to do with where she was from as he pointed to the “I’m from Utah” T-shirt she had on. Incidentally, they also thanked her since the thief dropped two of the duffel bags he’d stolen out of one car in order to get away from the Utah woman chasing after him.

Cami Checketts
  • Cami is training for her third marathon and is hoping being over forty and in the hefty honey’s division (the race organizers call it something nice like Filly division) means she’ll finally win something.
  • Cami is much too obsessed with her four boys and loves watching them play lacrosse. From her 6’3″ 16-year-old defender to her 3’2″
4-year-old goalie, she cheers, drives hours to practice and games, bakes cookies for all the teams, and thinks lax Momma is the best title in the world.

Excerpt from Shadows in the Curtain

Timothy stuck to her side while people surged passed with compliments, hand squeezes, and the occasional hug. Emmy searched every eye, but only saw excitement from a fun performance or weariness from sitting too long. If anyone had murder in mind, he was as good at putting on a fake face as she was.
No one piqued her curiosity. Until he came. She had no clue what his name was, but the past few weeks she’d seen him almost every morning at the gym. He was much too good-looking, with his rippling muscles and deep blue eyes. She always avoided looking directly at him, though she knew that was as obvious an indicator of her attraction as staring would be. She couldn’t avoid him now.
The wide entryway, which featured plush, faded carpet and wood-planked walls, shrank as he drew nearer. The babble of the crowd faded. He reached for her hand, staring deep into her eyes. Her hand fitted itself into his like he was a magnet. Her entire body leaned toward him.
“You were amazing. So passionate.” He smiled and the room swayed.
Emmy was quite sure the passion she experienced right now had nothing to do with singing or acting. She should draw away but couldn’t force herself to. “Thank you,” she managed, embarrassed by the huskiness of her voice as she tried to catch a breath.
The crowd pressed forward, and he was forced to release her hand and move to the side. His blonde date gushed over Emmy for a second, and then they were gone.
Emmy continued greeting other patrons but couldn’t forget the allure of his blue eyes. He didn’t seem like the creepy stalker type, but she had to wonder. Could he be the one sending the notes?
